Immiscible

Immiscible: Incapable of being mixed to form a homogeneous substance.

For the most part this was an amalgamation of the techniques in this blog post about drawing vector fields with a sprinkle of inspiration from this animation. Some renders of this were less abstract, but didn’t have the “gloopy liquid” feel which gives the final render a sense of viscous movement.

As another demonstration of how fickle/chaotic the creative process is, below is one of the first outputs on the journey. While it had an energetic vibe it wasn’t sharp enough for my liking. The iterations that came afterwards still use the same underlying shapes, though it’s hard to tell.
